D-Wall Sehrrud Project;

The pinnacleof facade engineering against natural forces with the expertise of Hasco

The De-Wall Tower on the shoreline of the tourist city of Sorkhroud, as one of the tallest and most special projects under construction in the north of the country, is a symbol of the intersection of luxury architecture and advanced engineering, not only in terms of the number of floors (30 floors) but also due to the high level of facilities, common areas, and hotel services. This massive project presented numerous technical challenges, especially in the facade section, which required in-depth knowledge and careful selection of structural systems to overcome. Understanding these challenges, especially the need to withstand strong winds and storms with estimated speeds of up to 250 km/h, HASCO carried out detailed planning based on Orgadata software data to ensure that the building’s facade would not suffer any deformation or structural damage. Intelligent execution of the main facade (floors 6 to 25) For the majority of the tower, which includes residential units, the system of choice was the Akrol lift and slide window system (model 143) along with the Reinforcement system (reinforcement structure). This combination is the key to the structure’s resistance to wind pressure:

  • Advantages of the lift and slide system:This system, as mentioned earlier, allows for large openings with very smooth operation. At high altitudes, the ability to open and close windows without creating excessive tension on the sashes and rail system is vital. By lifting the sash before horizontal movement, this system reduces friction and ensures the longevity of the opening mechanism.
  • Advantages of Reinforcement (Reinforcement Structure): At high altitudes and when exposed to high wind speeds, the use of reinforcement structures (reinforcement) inside aluminum profiles is essential. These reinforcements, which are usually made of galvanized steel with an appropriate cross-section, greatly increase the overall rigidity and strength of the window frame and prevent any deformation (deflection) or breakage of the glass due to lateral pressures.

Variation in glass based on use:

  • Common floors (up to the sixth floor): In this section, double-glazedtempered glass is used to maintain a balance between thermal/sound insulation and the weight of the structure.
  • Residential floors (from the sixth floor and above): laminated tempered glass is used. Laminated glass, having a longitudinal adhesive layer between two or more layers of glass, has much higher security; In the event of a break, the glass fragments adhere to the middle layer and prevent the facade from collapsing, which is a vital safety advantage for high-rise structures.
  • Window dimensions: The engineering of these dimensions is very complex; from 3 meters and 60 centimeters in height (floors 6 to 21) to the enormous dimensions of 3.5 meters by 14 meters (floors 22 to 25), all with the Reinforce reinforcement system being built and implemented by Hasco.

Terrace shelter: beauty alongside security

For the terrace shelter, Jaki Exposed glass guardrail using 8 x 8 mm laminated safety glass has been considered. This choice, while maintaining maximum visibility overlooking the beach, maximizes occupant safety against strong winds due to the use of laminate layers. The exposed jaw mechanism, as before, emphasizes the simplicity and visual beauty of the terraces’ facade.

Specialized Views of Public Spaces

Hasco has also used specialized solutions in the tower’s public spaces:

  1. Pool area (fifth floor): In this humid space that requires wide visibility, the Lamella Curtain Wall System along with Three-rail lift and slide windows has been used. This combination allows for proper ventilation (via lifts and slides) and at the same time structural stability against high humidity (by curtain wall).
  2. Gym section (behind the pool): For this space, a curtain wall system with double-glazed safety glass has been used to provide sufficient lighting and the necessary thermal and acoustic insulation for a sports space.
  3. Lobby and restaurant cafe (ground floor, beach side): In this vital section, which is exposed to public view and the beach view, lamella curtain wall along with double-glazed safety glass has been used to showcase the grandeur of the tower’s main entrance.

With this level of engineering detail and precise execution by Hasco, the D-Wall Tower is definitely one of the most special and durable structures in the world.
