Aluminum Sliding Window

Normal Aluminum – Sliding System

A sliding window is a type of window whose sashes move on rails instead of hinges and are opened and closed by being pulled to the sides. This system is available in various types such as single-rail, double-rail, triple-rail and quadruple-rail.

Advantages

  • Space saving: The biggest advantage of this system is that it does not occupy space when opened and is ideal for small spaces.
  • Proper lighting and visibility: The possibility of significant natural light entering and creating a wide view of the outside space.
  • Optimal ventilation: By opening one or more sashes, proper airflow is created in the space.
  • Modern and beautiful design: Minimal and modern appearance that harmonizes with different architectural styles.
  • Ease of use: The smooth movement mechanism on the rail makes opening and closing very easy.
  • Variety in the number of rails and sashes: Possibility of designing in different dimensions with high flexibility.

Disadvantages

  • Poorer insulation than hinged windows: Due to the gap between the sashes and the rails, the sound and heat insulation is weaker (can be compensated with high-quality fittings).
  • Possibility of rails getting stuck: Dust accumulation may make it difficult for the sashes to move.
  • Possibility of water penetration in heavy rain: In case of improper sealing, there is a possibility of water penetration.
  • Less security than multi-point locking systems: This depends on the quality of the fittings.
  • Limited ventilation in the fully open position: Part of the window surface is covered by the sashes.
