Sliding System
A sliding window is a type of window whose sashes move on rails instead of hinges and are opened and closed by being pulled to the sides. This system is available in various types such as single-rail, double-rail, triple-rail and quadruple-rail.
Advantages
- Space saving: The sashes move on rails and do not occupy internal or external space. Suitable for balconies, kitchens and small spaces.
- Good light and visibility: Possibility of abundant natural light and wide view to the outside depending on the number of sashes.
- Optimal ventilation: By opening one or more sashes, proper air flow is created.
- Modern and beautiful design: Minimal and modern appearance that is compatible with many architectural styles.
- Ease of use: Opening and closing the window is easy.
- Variety in the number of rails and sashes: Possibility of designing with two, three or four rails and the appropriate number of sashes for flexibility in dimensions and openings.
Disadvantages
- Weaker sound and thermal insulation: The gap between Slats and rails may reduce insulation. Of course, with quality fittings and profiles, this problem can be compensated for.
- Possibility of jamming of rails: Accumulation of dust or fine particles may make the movement of the sash difficult and require cleaning.
- Possibility of water penetration in heavy rain: In case of improper design and sealing, water penetration is possible.
- Less security than multi-point windows: Depending on the quality of the fittings, it may have lower security than two-position windows.
- Limited ventilation in the fully open position: When the window is fully opened, a large part of the opening is covered and visibility is limited.
Sliding windows are a great choice for balconies due to their space-saving and ease of use. Terraces and large windows are living and dining spaces, especially when light and a wide view are a priority.
