Hinge system
A type of door or window that is connected to the frame by hinges and opens and closes around a vertical axis.
Advantages
- Excellent ventilation: Especially single- and double-hung windows that open completely create excellent airflow.
- High insulation: Due to the compactness of the sash to the frame, energy loss is minimized.
- Security: The multi-point locking mechanism in modern types provides high security.
- Easy cleaning: Most types can be accessed and cleaned from both sides.
- Versatility: They can be used in different designs, colors and architectural styles.
Disadvantages
- Requires opening space: To open completely, sufficient space is needed inside or outside.
- Limitations in size: In very large sizes, they may become heavy and put a lot of pressure on the hinges.
Hinged doors and windows are still the most widely used type of doors and windows in the construction industry due to their simplicity, high efficiency, great variety and proper insulation.
The choice of their type and material depends on the needs of the project, budget and taste of the designer or owner.
